About Healthcare for Both Lives
Healthcare for Both Lives is a network of healthcare professionals committed to healthcare that protects and values both the pregnant mother and her pre-born child, and to providing support and representation for professionals who share this commitment.
Initially an informal group meeting to encourage and equip one another to practise and advocate for healthcare that protects the life and health of both mothers and their pre-born children, this has now grown into a national movement.
Healthcare for Both Lives exists to promote compassionate, evidence-based healthcare that upholds the lives of both mother and child, supports professionals who share these values, and contributes to public and professional discourse on these vital issues.

Declaration
As healthcare professionals, we recognise the scientific and clinical reality that, in caring for a pregnant woman, there are at least two human beings present - the mother and her pre-born child(ren). We affirm our ethical and professional responsibility to care for and treat both lives with compassion, respect and integrity.
We are therefore committed to the practice of healthcare that:

Affirms and defends the life and health of both the pregnant woman and her pre-born child.

Seeks alternatives to abortion including promoting compassionate and holistic care for pregnant women in challenging circumstances.

Upholds ethical standards that promote health and healing without resorting to the intentional destruction of human life.

Respects the ethical integrity of this position and supports healthcare professionals who practice professionally in line with these values.

Calls for oversight, transparency, and accountability for abortion providers.

Values open dialogue, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care for all, including those impacted by abortion.
In signing this declaration, we stand in solidarity with others who are committed to delivering and promoting healthcare that serves both lives - the woman and her pre-born child - with dignity, compassion and care.
